Anxiety and Panic Attacks
When left unaddressed, anxiety prevents you from enjoying your life. If you’ve been dealing with anxiety for a long time, you’re probably tired of feeling overwhelmed, tired and on edge all the time.
It’s exhausting to endure, and it’s difficult not to know what do do about it. Overwhelming anxiety or panick attacks might take hold of you in the most unexpected situations. You might resort to withdrawing or avoiding certain situations in order to guard against these overwhelming feelings, but it feels like things have to change. When you are feeling this way, it is hard to create and maintain relationships with people you genuinely appreciate.
Growing up in difficult and stressful circumstances can leave us stuck in a state of constant vigilance and worry. You might be starting to lose hope that you will ever be able to get over past wounds that were inflicted before you were capable of defending yourself.
Don’t lose hope just yet.Asking for help is the first step towards experiencing relief from anxiety and starting to feel more relaxed.
Therapy is the space where you can find answers that work for you to answers you might be having , such as
“What is the underlying reason for all my suffering?”
“My emotions are so overwhelming – how could I possibly overcome them and find calm and peace?”
“How do I overcome my fear of letting go in relationships?”
“Why do I have such little willpower and motivation? Am I just not good enough?”
“Why do I keep finding myself in the same kinds of undesirable situations?”
During therapy sessions you can expect to be listened to closely and taken seriously.
Many of my clients are afraid that their anxiety and panic is “too difficult to deal with” and that they will just be told to try harder to relax. Likewise, other people are afraid that their issues are actually not that bad because their life looks good on the outside, so they won’t be taken seriously if they express pain and dissatisfaction.
But like them, you will find that your concerns do matter and that you are not beyond help, no matter how hopeless you might feel right now.
If you want to get started on the journey towards feeling better, please reach out for a consultation.
