I trained in psychotherapy and counselling in Dublin Counselling and Therapy Centre. This intensive, four year training concluded with a Higher Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am accredited with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and I adhere to their Code of Ethics.
I am passionate about helping people reclaim their sense of empowerment and control over their life.
I am a qualified mindfulness practitioner. When it is desired, I incorporate mindfulness techniques into the counselling work. This practice is deemed to be effective for clients looking to overcome their feelings of anxiety and panic attacks .
I put a strong emphasis on creating a safe and accepting environment where a client can work through their difficulties in a comfortable space and at their own pace.
I use humanistic, person-centered, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural (CBT) approaches.
